INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Download the pla.zip file to your computer.

2. Unzip the pla.zip (compressed) file into its own file folder.

3. Upload the contents of the unzipped file folder (labeled pla ) to a host server as per the PACKAGE CONTENTS list instructions above.

4. Change the "permission" of the folder labeled pla to 777 on the host server BEFORE RUNNING THE "Prime Link Advertising" SCRIPT FOR THE FIRST TIME!

If you fail to do this then the "Prime Link Advertising" script will not function!

If you are unsure as to how to change the pla folder permission to 777 then contact your host server support team for help.

When the "Prime Link Advertising" script is run for the first time, then the following files (shown in maroon ) are created automatically:

INFORMATION AND NOTES ABOUT THE GENERATED FILES

index.php - index.php is the main file. It is suggested that any editing to this file be done with a PHP Editor or Windows "Notepad".

However, if you load this file into FrontPage or FrontPage Express you will first have to rename it to index.html.

When you are finished editing the file with FrontPage and have saved it, then rename the file again to index.php, and you will then be ready to upload the edited file.

admin.php - admin.php is the Admin Area file.  You can access the Admin Area by clicking on the Admin link at the bottom center of the main index.php page.

When first accessing the Admin Area the username is: admin with the password: 123456.

As soon as you have logged in to the Admin Area , you can easily change the username and the password to those you desire.

If you forget your password, you cannot just open the admin.php file and see the password, because it is encrypted.

The solution is to delete the file password.dat, which holds the encrypted information, because as soon as you load the main page again a new password.dat file will be created and it will once again contain the username: admin and the password: 123456.

colorsub.php - colorsub.php is a file that gives users access to submit colorized links.

NOTE: (THIS IS ONLY A SUGGESTION) The Hikids57 Company has generated a viral income by giving this script away for free.  However, if you decide to provide this capability as a PAID option, then you may choose to do the following:

Remove the colorsub.php link information from the index.php file andreplace it with a payment link option such as a PayPal.com account link.

With PayPal you can redirect paying customers back to the colorsub.php access page after they have made their payment to your PayPal account.

 Be sure to read all the help at the PayPal.com Website.

The PayPal customer service is always glad to help you set up yourpayment account.

auth.php - auth.php is the file that contains the Admin Area authorizationlogin procedure.

login.php - login.php is just the login page to the Admin Area.

This is where you will enter the username: admin and the password: 123456 the first time.

Once you change your username and password inside the Admin Area youwill use that data for all future log-ins through the auth.php .

create.php - create.php is the file that creates the necessary files whenyou run the script for the first time.

It is highly suggested that you DO NOT MODIFY this php file.

submit.php - submit.php is the file that is needed to run the entire "PrimeLink Advertising" script.

links.php - links.php is the file with a function to call the links.

It is highly suggested that you DO NOT MODIFY this php file.

manage.php - manage.php is the file called within the Admin Area thatgives you the opportunity to delete links from any of the sections.

It is highly suggested that you DO NOT MODIFY this php file.

password.dat - password.dat is the file that holds your username andpassword.

It is highly suggested that you DO NOT MODIFY this php file.

settings.txt - settings.txt is the file that holds your settings.  This file iscontrolled from within the Admin Area .

emails.txt - If enabled the emails.txt file collects submitters emailaddresses.

This file can be very big, but you can easily clear it from the Admin Area .

sendmail.txt - sendmail.txt holds the contents of your confirmation emailwhen a link has been posted.

You can enable or disable this in the Admin Area .

This file is controlled from the Admin Area .

If enabled any advertising you include in the text of this file will be sent to submitters.

xendmail.txt - xendmail.txt holds the contents of your confirmation emailwhen a link has expired.

You can enable or disable this in the Admin Area .

This file is controlled from the Admin Area .

Any advertising you include in the text of this file will be sent to submitters.

log.txt - log.txt logs all submission information if it is enabled. This file canbe very big, but you can easily clear the contents from the Admin Area .

This is a great way of tracking any illegal or undesired activity.

comp.txt holds the links for the computer section.

educ.txt holds the links for the education section.

ente.txt holds the links for the entertainment section.

gove.txt holds the links for the government section.

misc.txt holds the links for the miscellaneous section.

bademail.txt - bademail.txt is a file that holds blocked email addresses.

This file is controlled from the Admin Area .

badurl.txt - badurl.txt is a file that holds blocked URLs.

This file is controlled from the Admin Area .

badwords.txt - badwords.txt is a file that blocks inappropriate words inthe description.

This file is controlled from the Admin Area .

total.txt - total.txt is a file that holds the number of submitted links.

You can always see the numbers of submitted links in the bottom of theAdmin Area .

hostname.txt - hostname.txt is a file that holds your hostname.

This file is only used if you have remote submissions DISABLED .

Remote SPAM submissions can be controlled by disabling remote submissions.

color.js - color.js is a java script file.
